By accessing or using Roster's platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Roster. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.
2. Description of Service
Roster is a platform that connects users seeking expert consultation with qualified professionals ("Experts") across various fields. Our Service facilitates:
- Discovery and search of expert profiles
- Booking and scheduling of consultation sessions
- Video call consultations between users and experts
- Payment processing for consultation services
- Review and rating system for experts
3. User Accounts and Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
4. Expert Registration and Obligations
4.1 Becoming an Expert
Individuals wishing to offer services as Experts must apply and be approved by Roster. Experts agree to:
- Provide accurate credentials and professional qualifications
- Maintain appropriate professional licenses and certifications
- Deliver services in a professional and timely manner
- Honor all scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice of cancellation
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in their field
4.2 Expert Responsibilities
Experts are independent contractors and not employees of Roster. Experts are solely responsible for the quality and content of their consultations, and for any claims arising from their services.
5. Bookings and Payments
5.1 Booking Process
Users may book consultation sessions with Experts through our platform. All bookings are subject to Expert availability and acceptance.
5.2 Payment Terms
- Payment is required at the time of booking
- All fees are quoted in the applicable currency
- Roster charges a service fee for facilitating the connection
- Payment processing is handled through secure third-party providers
- Experts receive payment after successful completion of consultations
5.3 Pricing
Experts set their own rates for consultations. All prices displayed include applicable service fees unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change at the Expert's discretion.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
6.1 User Cancellations
- Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled session: Full refund
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session: 50% refund
- No-shows without prior cancellation: No refund
6.2 Expert Cancellations
If an Expert cancels a confirmed booking, users will receive a full refund. Repeated cancellations by Experts may result in account suspension.
6.3 Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days to the original payment method.
7. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Attempt to circumvent the platform to arrange direct payments
- Share account credentials with others
- Reverse engineer or attempt to access the platform's source code
- Distribute viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without permission
8. Intellectual Property Rights
All content on the Roster platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and design, is the property of Roster or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant Roster a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content as necessary to provide the Service.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our privacy practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
10.1 Service Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ROSTER DOES NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.
10.2 Expert Services Disclaimer
Roster is a platform facilitating connections between users and Experts. We do not provide professional advice and are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of Expert consultations. Users are solely responsible for evaluating and engaging with Experts.
10.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROSTER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Roster and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Roster operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Arbitration
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
13. Termination
Roster reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination:
- Your right to access the Service will immediately cease
- We may delete your account and all associated data
- Outstanding payment obligations remain enforceable
- Scheduled consultations may be cancelled with appropriate refunds
14. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Miscellaneous
15.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
15.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Roster regarding the Service.
15.3 Waiver
No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.
